An MGA TES system can ‘drop in’ to replace coal and gas burners in a thermal power station and support renewable energy from the grid at times of surplus supply, when renewable energy is at its lowest cost. This also reuses existing infrastructure such as the turbine, cooling tower, and grid connection.
A boiler replacement is an efficient way to re-purpose existing infrastructure and support large scale renewables. It rapidly replaces capacity on the grid converting a thermal power station into a renewable energy storage and dispatch facility.
